It’s now time for 4 Your Money. We’re joined by David Nelson, CEO of NelsonCorp Wealth Management. Welcome back, David.

David Nelson:
Thank you, Brandy.

Brandy Auterson-Hurst:
We have talked recently about improvement in the economy. Where are you looking for a confirmation of that?

David Nelson:
Boring topic, obviously, but important ever less, we look at hard data and soft data. Hard data probably the easiest way to visualize that would be retail sales, and we saw really bone crushing numbers as far as come out of that a couple weeks back. Soft data would be surveys and expectations. That’s this week’s topic, which is primarily looking at items like CEO Confidence Index and the chart that I have as far as for this, again, gives people a nice visual as far as trying to see, as far as how does this compare versus say, the last five years. And you can see here that it’s a pretty sharp increase on the far right as far as CEO confidence. Typically what this is going to translate into is that there’s going to be more spending that’s going to take place and investments as far as from a corporate perspective. So that probably in itself is pretty good news.

Brandy Auterson-Hurst:
What does that mean for viewers’ investments?

David Nelson:
Well, I think the CEO Confidence Index is a strong reversal, and what basically this typically implies is that the stock market as well as the economy typically are going to have a upward trajectory. Not always the case. And remember, this is only one piece of the data that we look at, but it is a welcome change if you look at that compared to 2022 and prior, again, year or two as far as in that space. So one piece of data, but an important piece of data and it looks quite favorable.

Brandy Auterson-Hurst:
All right, David. As always, thanks for joining us.

David Nelson:
Thank you, Brandy.
